Two successful family-run Devon businesses are teaming up to curate an incredible wining and dining experience in a stunning setting. 

High Grange Devon has been building up its reputation since 2020 as one of the best places to eat in the South West. Home to the Food Drink Devon awards ‘best cookery school’ and ‘best fine dining restaurant’, owner and head chef Luke Vandore-Mackay uses only the best local and seasonal ingredients and cooks everything over fire on his vast array of grills, barbecues and fire pits. 

Planted by Ben and Caroline Goulden in 2013, Swanaford Estate is a beautiful family-run vineyard producing award-winning still and sparkling wines from grapes grown on the slopes of the Teign Valley, near Exeter. Surrounded by glorious countryside, the vineyard is driven by a passion to create great wine from the best grapes, and is proud to offer a spectacular backdrop in which to gather, eat, drink and enjoy. 

This one off pop up dinner will amalgamate stunning wine, grown and made within yards of your table with a delicious menu of incredible ex-dairy beef, cooked over wood embers and smoked in a huge Kamado Joe grill. There will be fire pit canapés and fizz, seasonal veg and to finish stone fruits, charred on a plancha with a silky sabayon made with High Grange eggs and more of that Swanaford fizz. This will be a truly remarkable experience in the heart of the glorious Devon countryside.

Charred, crispy skin chicken, HG Sichuan/seaweed crack dust

Ember-roast king oyster mushrooms, tarragon butter

Main course

KJ-Slow-smoked featherblade of beef with crispy onions, confit garlic and HG BBQ sauce

Pink-roast whole ex-dairy beef rump, horseradish & whipped bone marrow butter

Summer peas, mange tout, feta & pea shoots

Grilled leek hearts, new potatoes & grilled carrots with High Grange honey and chive butter

Dessert

Burnt apricots, Swanaford fizz sabayon, pink peppercorn and almond shortbread crumb
